We accept – indeed, we welcome – government-related, political advocacy and campaign advertising, including ads from trade groups, lobbyists, activists, grass-roots groups, and the like. We accept retail advertising, such as ads from service-industry businesses, restaurants, hotels, real estate interests, and the like.
We do not accept ads from sexually oriented businesses, such as adult movie houses or personals, or other ads with sexual content. We’re not prudes, merely respectable, and we think our target audience and advertisers will be most comfortable with that.
The bottom line: We see our advertisers as those who have a message that needs to be communicated to the political establishment.
Site Statistics: WashBucket’s site numbers remained strong during the Second Quarter of 2010 (April 1-June 30, 2010). The site continues to garner between 20% and 25% new visitors to the site each week. During the Second Quarter, WashBucket received 288,058 page views on the main page from 11,777 “word-of-mouth” visitors — up over 2,000 visitors from the previous quarter — 8,288 who regularly returned to read us throughout the day. On the main news roundup section (which is the highest-entrance page of the site) we received roughly 2.3 million ad impressions. Daily Opt-In Email Statistics: For the period April 1, 2010 to June 30, 2010, WashBucket distributed 24,195 emails to daily opt-in subscribers. From these, 21, 202 email views and/or or active click-throughs were generated.
